Advertising FAQ
🧠 Optimization & Bidding
If I select an ACoS Range Low of 9% and a High of 25%, which ACoS will Trellis try to achieve?
This depends on your optimization strategy:
-
ROAS Boost targets the low end of your ACoS range (profit-focused).
-
Growth Max targets the high end of your ACoS range (aggressive growth).
How often is Trellis making changes to bids?
This depends on your campaign settings. By default, Trellis adjusts bids once per day.
If dayparting or other dynamic settings are enabled, adjustments can occur multiple times throughout the day.
Is there a specific time when bids get fully updated?
Bids are generally refreshed and pushed to Amazon around midnight PST. However, bid updates and optimizations can happen throughout the day based on performance data and campaign volume.
⚙️ Campaign Management & Syncing
How can we import campaigns created manually in Ad Console into Trellis — or does Trellis import them automatically?
All campaigns created outside of Trellis appear as Non-Trellis Managed (NTM).
This includes campaigns created before Trellis was connected and any new campaigns created directly in Amazon after setup.
You can enroll these campaigns by going to Bulk Actions → Import Keywords and Targets to bring them under Trellis management.
If “Manage Imported Media Plan” is enabled and we adjust bids manually in Seller Central, will Trellis detect and sync those changes automatically?
No. Once Trellis manages a campaign, it becomes the source of truth.
Any manual changes made in Seller Central will be overwritten. All bid and setting adjustments should be made within Trellis to ensure consistency.
Can we have a button to synchronize bids and budgets from Seller Central to Trellis?
Trellis continuously syncs data with Amazon, but it does not import manual updates from Seller Central.
All bid, budget, and campaign setting changes should be made directly in Trellis. These are then automatically pushed to Amazon.
Does Trellis reactivate paused campaigns or targets if they’re paused directly in Ads Console?
No. Trellis will never reactivate a campaign automatically.
However, Trellis is the source of truth — once a campaign is managed in Trellis, all pausing or reactivation should be done within Trellis to ensure proper synchronization.
📊 Reporting & Data
Where can we find the history of Trellis’ actions for each account?
You can view bid-change history and system actions within each target or campaign.
For additional visibility, users can add Annotations to document manual changes or campaign adjustments.
What’s the difference between Keywords and Queries in the Search Term Report?
-
Keywords are the search terms you’re directly bidding on (e.g., “Red Shoes – Phrase”).
-
Queries are the actual customer search terms Amazon matched to your keyword (e.g., “Red Shoes for Women”).
💡 Troubleshooting & Performance
Why is my campaign not spending?
There are several possible causes:
-
The ACoS range may be too restrictive, preventing competitive bids.
-
The budget is too low to enter auctions.
-
Keywords or targets may have low search volume or relevance.
-
The product may be out of stock or suppressed on Amazon.
Try widening your ACoS range or raising bids to restore spend performance.
🔁 General Behavior
How does Trellis handle bid synchronization and updates?
Trellis acts as the source of truth for all managed campaigns.
Once a campaign is under Trellis management, all changes should be made in Trellis.
Those updates are automatically synced to Amazon, while any manual changes made directly in Ads Console will not persist.
