Working with Ad, Product, Target & Search Term Reports

Drill down into detailed performance data to analyze ads, products, targets, and search terms — and export the insights you need for optimization or reporting.

 

Overview

While dashboards show high-level trends, Reports give you granular visibility across every campaign, ASIN, keyword, and search query in Trellis.

Each report can be filtered, customized, and exported — making them ideal for deeper analysis, account reviews, or client updates.

You can find them under:
Left Navigation → Reports → Ad | Product | Target | Search Term


🪄 Types of Reports

Report Description Best For
Ad Report Lists all active and historical campaigns, including metrics like ACOS, ROAS, Spend, and Sales. Reviewing campaign performance and efficiency by Media Plan.
Product Report Summarizes performance for each ASIN or SKU across all ad types. Comparing product-level profitability and identifying trends by category.
Target Report Displays all active keyword, ASIN, and category targets Trellis is managing. Deep-diving into target-level trends, CPCs, and conversion behavior.
Search Term Report Shows all actual customer search queries and how they perform against your active targets. Understanding how real search terms match to your keywords and identifying new opportunities or negatives.

💡 Tip: Reports sync with live Amazon data daily. Product and search term data may show a short delay based on Amazon’s reporting window.


🔍 How to Use Reports

1️⃣ Filter Your View

Each report includes advanced filtering and search options.
You can filter by:

  • Category, Tag, or Brand

  • Media Plan or Campaign Type

  • Product ASIN or SKU

  • Ad Type or Match Type

  • Date Range

💡 Tags make it easy to isolate performance for specific product groups — like Seasonal Products, Premium Line, or Clearance.


2️⃣ Customize Columns

Click the ⚙️ gear icon near the search bar to select which metrics display in the table.

Common column options include:

  • Sales, Units, and Margin

  • Spend, ACOS, ROAS, CPC

  • Clicks and Conversion Rate

  • For Search Terms: Query, Match Type, and Matched Target

Keep only key columns for quick review, or show everything before exporting a complete dataset.


3️⃣ Drill Down

Click on any line item to open detailed views:

  • Ad Report: See all campaigns under a Media Plan.

  • Product Report: View individual campaign performance by product.

  • Target Report: Review how each keyword or ASIN is being bid on.

  • Search Term Report: See which search queries triggered your ads and how they performed (clicks, spend, sales, conversions).

Example: You might find that the search term “ceramic coffee mug” performs strongly even though your target keyword is “coffee mug”. This helps you add “ceramic coffee mug” as a new exact keyword or negate irrelevant matches.

💡 Tip: You can utilize Auto Harvesting within a campaign or Custom Harvesting Rules to automate this process.


4️⃣ Export Your Data

To share or analyze data outside Trellis:

  • Click the Export option in the Left Hand Navigation -> Reports.

  • Choose CSV or Excel.

  • Use the Search Term Report weekly to feed your keyword harvesting and negation strategy.

  • Combine the Product Report with Tags to measure custom product group performance.

  • Filter the Target Report by Match Type to understand which bidding approaches are performing best.

  • Keep date ranges consistent (e.g., last 30 days) when comparing reports for alignment.
